I haven’t read A Confederacy of Dunces so I have no basis for comparison but this story lacked some punch. Maybe I’m just jaded.

Thanks. A Confederacy of Dunces is supposed to be a comedic masterpiece. Now, it is apparent to me that I didn't produce a comedic masterpiece here. I have been trying a more minimalist approach to prompting lately, maybe there has been an effect on quality. It'll take a few more tries to be sure though.

I'm wondering if the AI actually read A Confederacy of Dunces or just made everything up lol 😆. I'm fond of that book so this really confused me.

Thanks. I haven't read the book, so let me just ask the same AI if there is any similarity:

"Both tales are set in New Orleans, and the city's unique culture and atmosphere play a significant role in shaping the narrative. Both stories also feature a protagonist who is on a journey of self-discovery, navigating the complexities of their own identity and creative expression.

However, the tone and style of the two stories are quite different. "A Confederacy of Dunces" is a comedic masterpiece, known for its witty dialogue, absurd characters, and satirical take on modern society. In contrast, the story of Bernie LaFleur is more introspective and lyrical, with a focus on the transformative power of creativity and the human experience."

I take that as agreement with your sentiment. 😅
