Good writing is effective for what it doesn't say while still getting its point across. I feel like the AI is always beating me over the head to make sure I understand what's going on in excruciating detail. Can AI be taught to let the reader infer what is going on?

I spent hours asking AI for subtlety, especially subtle humor. Never really works.

Style transfer may be the next best thing. Although H.C.Andersen's style isn't the best example of subtlety either, him being mostly a children's author.

There are some gems in there. "Would I? Does a firewall block pop-ups? Of course!" was a real head-scratcher to me.
