I spent hours asking AI for subtlety, especially subtle humor. Never really works.
Style transfer may be the next best thing. Although H.C.Andersen's style isn't the best example of subtlety either, him being mostly a children's author.
There are some gems in there. "Would I? Does a firewall block pop-ups? Of course!" was a real head-scratcher to me.

Have you tried using Hemingway? He has a spare writing style.
I used his style for the baby shoes. That kind of worked. Will try again.
